Anti Vaxer

I have a good friend who is an anti vaxer, i've had heated debates with him on social media over many months, I found out yesterday that he has caught Covid and has had to isolate over Christmas and has been quite ill, he is in his 60s, is it right for me to think, 'serves you right' or should I show sympathy?

Human nature ... I suspect when he recovers he will be telling everyone it wasn't that bad and it proves the anti vaxxer line that the risks are exaggerated....

A quandary
It is often the friends and relatives of the iunvaxxed who bear a bigger burden I guess because they were unable to persuade that person to see sense and have the vaccine then have the added anguish of seeing them suffer unnecessarily

Others might say it is natural selection

No right or wrong answer

Not enough context in your post, SP. Why is he so dead set against the vaccine?
And if he truly is a 'good friend', i'm sure you'll be able to muster up a little sympathy. Y'know, be the bigger person, and all that.

To take an aggressive or antivax attitude will push him further into his line of antivax thoughts...........it will defeat the object.

Show sympathy......that's all you can do.

Sympathy. He'll come to his own conclusion about the vaccine after this...may change he's mind or may convince him he was right if he as no problems. As we know on here debate &reason just harden attitudes for most people

That was months ago & for the Delta variant. This guy is younger & the new variant is milder. So as I say, the odds are well in his favour, particularly if he has no serious underlying disease.

But your stats will include fully vaxxed people khandro so the risk of dying for an unvaxxed is higher. But its he's choice

When you say “antivaxer” that covers a lot of things it seems.
Do you mean “actively opposed vaccination” or “doesn’t feel it’s right for him” or somewhere in between.
I don’t think “serves you right” is a very sensible response especially as he’s more likely to infect others that way.
