R N L I - They've Got A Cheek...
Just seen their ad asking for money to be left in wills. Well I used to give money to this shower. Now they are are the main importers of illegal immigrants. They go out to find them and ferry them back. They'll get sweet FA from me.
Don't get me started on the border farce......

The RNLI have boats all around the country and for that reason alone, I will continue to donate money to them.
Those RNLI officers based at stations on the south-coast have to put to sea to save lives; it's what they do. I am sure that many of them would prefer to go on 'shouts' which don't involve illegal immigrants in unseaworthy vessels but they don't get to chose.

They are not being called out they go out looking and ferry them back.
fbg: "Are you posting this with tongue in cheek ?? " - no
"RNLI servicemen are volunteers, save hundreds of lives every year and as Jack states" - great carry on doing that
"they have no choice as to what shouts they attend. Would politely suggest you think before posting like this."
Correct but they are not attending shouts, no one is calling them they go out to the edge of British waters to ferry them to UK. They "rescue" them when they are not in need of rescue.
From March this year,
www.theguardian.com/global-development/2024/mar/03/rnli-lifeboats-coastguard-border-force-channel-tragedy-migrants
'A volunteer for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) allegedly accused Border Force crews of “not doing their job”, during a spat in which the charity refused a coastguard request to rescue a migrant boat. The incident came days before a mass drowning that was the deadliest Channel disaster for more than 30 years.
The coastguard were told that the RNLI crew would only launch if “you’ve got people in the water” after it was asked to plug a gap in Border Force coverage, according to internal documents seen by the Guardian and Liberty Investigates, which reveal tensions between agencies involved in rescuing small boats in the Dover Strait.'
I'm not surprised they're on the receiving end of such criticism. Alarm bells first rang for me when I discovered they were buying burkinis for Islamic women abroad so that they could learn to swim - and I don't think they should be acting as a ferry service either. People tend to stop giving when their money isn't going where it's intended to go.
The crew who man the boats are indeed volunteers. They are the ones with the know how and bravery. Unfortunately, like all our once esteemed institutions, the professional hangers on and disaffected have managed to parachute themselves into the set up. There are now hundreds of "charriddee workers" esconced in expensive offices with expensive expense claim forms. They now control the recruiting policy, have a political agenda to push, a diversity and inclusivity agenda, a non binary agenda, a racial consideration and preference policy and are in charge of making the decision to act as a ferry service for the gangster people smugglers. Out standing order was cancelled long ago and there will be no legacy left to them either.
