Slow Internet connection on wireless router.

I am usin a Belkin 54Mbps wireless router on my laptop connected to an NTL broadband modem. The connection sometimes seems laboured for certain web pages ie MSN homepage (or doesn't connect at all) but others come up no problem. Can anyone give me some advice on how i can connect quicker? I've tried deleting the tempory internet files but the problem still persists
