apparently, the rates of heart disease are 50% higher in Poland than in France?
i know of the old mediterannean diet and so forth, but am intrigued as to why Poland would have such a high rate. Any thoughts on why this is?

I should think there are a lot of other factors to be taken into consideration such as the proportion of manual workers, stress levels and post-war recovery, standards of housing and the general amount of disposable income available for holidays etc...but I wonder why the comparison is between Poland and France?
