FireFox 2 problems
Hi,
Anyone else have problems with Firefox 2?
Since upgrading, I've noticed the following problems:
1) After a few address changes, my address bar stops automatically reflecting the address of the site/page. i.e., I click a link, go to the page, but the address bar still shows the previous page. Same happens when changing tabs.
2) Quite often the back button gets disabled for no apparent reason, in situations where you wouldn't expect it - and where following the same steps in IE does not disable the button.
3) AB is a good example of this, but it happens on any site: use the scroll wheel to look through the questions, and the page seems to lose focus. If I click a question link, I'm taken straight back to the top of the page and the link is ignored. If I the repeat the operation, it works fine. It also works OK, if I remember to click a clear area of the page before clicking the link.
I originally installed over the top of FF 1.5, but have tried uninstalling and re-installing, and it makes no difference.

Have you tried using firefox in safe mode (from the programs menu)? If not, give that a go. If everything is fine and you have no issues, it may be an extension that's causing the problems.
If you still have issues, and you don't mind taking a further look to get to the route of the problems, try downloading a nightly:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox /nightly/latest-trunk/
If it's gone from the nighty, then hopefully the bug has been squashed already.

Thanks, guys (how did I know that you two would be among the first to post answers?).
Tried safe mode, fo3nix and it didn't seem to make much difference. So then I tried latest-trunk, but that decided that almost all of my add-ons were incompatible. I then tried disabling add-ons one by one, also without effect!
Finally I tried uninstalling add-ons, and discovered that most of the problems went away after removing VRE Toolbar.
It's too early to say if it's solved all the problems, all of the time, but it's definitely an improvement!
Chris, are you using VRE toolbar?

Totally different set of problems here, but I think that mine are either a problem with ZoneAlarm. I had to d/l an older version as the current one won't play with some of my other apps, and my work machine (nearly identical extensions but no ZA) seems fine.
The most annoying thing is the lack of "tooltip" style pop-ups.
