Top Spot - Not a Hot Spot

Whilst some questions deserve to be pushed off the page, the uber-lingering top spot Q's seem to make the site a little higgledy-piggledy.
After about 10 minutes most questions get boring. Would this apear to be a reflection of the site itself in recent times? Dare I suggest that the pedestal hogging Q has a shorter lifespan?
Do the hoi polloi agree?

i would think most people go back through the questions until they see one they recognise, which means thats as far as the new questions go, so mixing them up can make this confusing.
i didn't look at a few topics for ages before i realised that the questions had been frozen, because whenever i clicked on the topic i would come to a familiar question and think there had been no new ones since.
