Removal of threads

Morning,

Two following 2 posts have been removed -

393530 - Drugs
393665 - Ed...Is this acceptable?

Both of these threads had escalated into complete drivel which was in turn offensive, abusive and completely unnecessary.

Please do not use the AnswerBank as a place to insult people. AB is a question and answer site with a good community full of knowledge and the majority of the time very helpful to each other.

Let's NOT turn AB into a place where no one wants to be

I wasn't having a go at you Allotment or meaning to seem as if I was singling you out. I only actually used your name in reference to the many posts which are amassing in suggestions , which all seem to more or less say the same thing. I just don't see the need for so many posts on the same subject. Surely the same sentiments can be confined to one thread ? My gripe was more with the personal insults being bandied about in a fit of rage. Is it worth getting THAT upset ? Sure , things change - not always for the best - but abusing the ed -or anyone for that matter - is hardly conducive to prompting a positive response now is it ? I apologise if you feel that I was singling you out because this was not my intention and I do understand your frustration because as I said in an earlier post , I too have not always been keen on recent changes and have not had any response back from the ed in the past and feel that his/her absence in certain threads fuels the discontent on here but I stand by what I say - abusing the ed or anyone else is not the way to make your opinions known , for those who have done so. I'm just glad too that we were able to iron out differences of opinions without all the usual drama , tears/tantrums and back biting which goes on. Hmm , mind you , we are in suggestions I suppose , not Body And Soul :-)

As for housework.....errrrrr, I've loaded the washer and done a bit (ok, 4 items) of ironing, does that count?

According to my dictionary the word means "A person who is notably stupid or LACKING IN GOOD JUDGEMENT! that pretty well sums up for me what has happened to our sports site . dummkopf, my main gripe with Craig was the manner in which he spoke to the Ed. We're not this rude and abrupt to people we meet face to face are we? So just because we're anonymous behind a PC screen does this mean we can be as rude as we like?

Ok I'm not going to lower myself to Craigs standards by insulting everyone just because I'm moody BUT surely he realises that the Editor is not the only person that has sole discretion over what happens with the AB???!!! so why blame her its pathetic Craig I should imagine she has a boss and he/she tells her what to do.

Although I have not read the two posts referred to Ed, I fully agree with your sentiments as expressed above, and feel certain that the vast majority of AB users are also in accord.

Unfortunately, it appears that a very high percentage of points raised on AB suggestions include very little of any substance, and are simply made by users with exhibitionist tendencies!

Elvis.....very good point. Three days it stood for and nothing as abusive was added. I don't agree with the thread being removed but if all the abusive answers were removed it wouldn't make any sense what so ever. We would just look like a bunch of loons making random statements to people who aren't there. As bad as these threads get sometimes it does represent the odd crazy night on here. The newbies might be shocked but it might harden them for the day that someone hurls a load of pointless abuse at them.....wrong I know...but it happens.

It would appear that Craig is on a mission......I can't knock him for effort.

Don't forget to buy a bottle of wine on the way home :-)

Didn't think you would remove the questions, as ummmm says there were some good answers.... unfortunately, ruined by that 'n e 2' person.
My being new, shouldn't affect anything......
surely we want lots more new people joining, more the merrier (sorry meant informative lol). There shouldn't be any stinky old feuds lurking around to put people off joining.
