Removal of threads

Morning,

Two following 2 posts have been removed -

393530 - Drugs
393665 - Ed...Is this acceptable?

Both of these threads had escalated into complete drivel which was in turn offensive, abusive and completely unnecessary.

Please do not use the AnswerBank as a place to insult people. AB is a question and answer site with a good community full of knowledge and the majority of the time very helpful to each other.

Let's NOT turn AB into a place where no one wants to be

Fair comment Enigma, my questions on the thread you have given a link to were not the toughest asked were they?
It seems to me that AB only give standard answers, straight out of a handbook and never really bother to give detailed replies that take thought and consideration into account.
My beef is not with you, i apologize for my last answer.

Hey no worries. I'm a big girl and I have had a lot worse said to me over a difference of opinion , believe me. I don't take anything on here to heart anyway. I understand your frustration at not feeling that your comments have been noted or indeed responded to but i just feel that being offensive to the ED isn't perhaps the best way to get your opinion across. You seem like an articulate guy in other posts so it surprises me that you would reduce yourself to this level to be heard. I think that it exacerbates the problem though with the absence of the ED in certain threads as it fuels the feeling of discontent on here and I too have sent an email a while back which I didn't get a reply to but I accept that it's a free website and shrug it off because I know that if I want to continue posting , I have to go with the Site Rules or else move on.

Perhaps craig if you wasn' so blunt and rude to Ed you might get a more satisfactory reply from her/him? Gotta be honest with you if you'd said to me "are the questions too difficult for you" and i had the power to ban you, your feet wouldn't touch.

Actually there are 4, hopefully you can answer these.

1. What was wrong with the old sport section with its 1 sub-topic, football?
2. If, as i suspect, the answer to question 1 is ' there was nothing wrong with it' why has it been so drastically changed?
3. Is there any chance that the sport section will go back to how it was before?
4. Are there any plans to change any of the other sections of AB in the same "style"?

I would appreciate some honest answers please AB Editor.

Yet again we have no answers to straight forward questions i have asked, and when they do answer its straight out of the "sitting on the fence" handbook that AnswerVVank seems to recite from time and time again!

Just because your original question/point/whinge/moan wasn't rude it doesnt escuse your subsequent posts Craig, if your trying to say that they do, then I'm sorry but it's a feeble attempt at backtracking.

I've nothing against you, and I've no wish to fall out, but I just wanted to point out ot you that being snotty will get you nowhere on here, or indeed anywhere.

I'm not taking umbrage with you either Craig and I don't want you to feel that I have any issues with you but I have seen some really good posts from you in the past and just feel that you are so much better than this - you are articulate enough to voice your opinion without resorting to petty insults. People just stop listening then.

Boo, there is no chance of us falling out believe me.
As you may be able to tell, i feel very strongly about AB changing the sport section, yes i may overstep the line at times but when you get no positive feedback from the powers that be then it is frustrating.
I know that AB will not change back to how the sport section was, i have asked both politely and less so for explanations to no avail.
The beauty of it all is that now i can switch my PC off, go and collect my wife from work and take her shopping, i wish you and everyone one else a good afternoon.

Exactly Craig , more to life than sitting in front of a PC arguing over silly little things which don't really matter that much at all in the grand scheme of things. That's why i'm not on here that much. Have a great afternoon with your wife. I wish my husband was more like you , he hates shopping and refuses to go with me :-(

enigma, i was just pointing out to ED that it's only fair that that it works both ways, she likes us to join in and answer her questions, the reason i highlighted the posts were because only one had been answered by her, yes, they all are about the same thing, which just goes to prove that i can't find anyone with anything good to say about the new sports section,
there's a big difference in the way they changed this site with the sub-topics to the way they've changed sports! you need a double sized screen and map reader to find your way round it !!
