Removing user details

Can anyone explain to me how I can remove my details from "my profile"? I've tried clicking on the Edit Details link but it always comes back every time I log on.

If you want your personal details removing for whatever reason, have you thought about putting a false name in instead?

That's odd though, as recently I changed my name, and i've entered my new one on my profile and it's still there???

Don't mean to offend here <g>galltin,/b>, but you are clicking the red SUBMIT button after you've made your changes aren't you?

Hi Boo, what I've done is remove ALL my details , then tried to press Submit but it wont let me as I haven't entered a name, but the whole point is I don't want my name entered any more. ( hope that makes sense!)

I`ve tried deleting mine too but no luck, all that cr@p about getting paid for your views...Pffft

It`s a scam just to get your details so they can pass them on to junkmailers

The 'pay for your view' option is not junkmailers at all. This is something the AnswerBank team is looking at starting relatively soon. We are in the process of developing the scheme so please if you're still interested sit tight and keep with us :o )

Relatively soon?...it`s been over six months now...let me delete my details then when/if you ever get round to doing the `pay for your view` option, I might sign up again

I've emailed asking the same thing galtin.

I posted my date of birth as 1 January 1900 & it still shows!

Please Ed, at least give us the option to remove these details, well, until such times when we do really need to add them....

Right I've changed my name and country. Because I no longer live in the UK my address details are now hidden.
e-mail address is still there though.

You can change your name, DOB, subscription details, just about anything.

Click the "my profile" link at the top left of any page. Change what you want to change. Then scroll down and click the submit link.

galltin, if you want to remove your name, I suggest you just change it to

[private]

You're not allowed to leave that field blank.

Yes, you can change the name - that's not what I'm bothered about, it's the date of birth.

I didn't want to put in my DOB, so clicked the lines above the zero's to show -- -- ----, but every time I submitted, it insisted on entering my DOB, so I entered 1 January 1900 instead!

What I'm asking is, if the -- -- ---- facility is there, why can't the DOB be left blank?
