Firstly the Sport section was messed around with unnecessarily, and now this You Tube rubbish!

Can I suggest that everyone looks for another way of wasting their day as this place is heading in 1 direction only.

Dot and Jno - I've just had a quick read of what I typed earlier and I didn't mean that the way it came out. My answer sounds quite rude but it wasn't meant to, I promise you. I was just trying to work out what was troubling you but I didn't mean to put it across in such a way, sorry. I see what you mean Dot but to be honest, I was too lazy to seek out the UK site and signed up for the .com version. To be honest though , my login works for both and I see that you're cooking with gas now.

Jno - You are not past it at all and you and I both know that you would have to be dragged away kicking and screaming from AB. Fixtures and fittings spring to mind lol. I wasn't singling you out saying that you don't approve of change. I was referring more to the people who tend to habitually complain about every teeny change which the ED implements. I don't like all the changes but I have got used to them and just accept them. I dare say that it will be the same with the You Tube links. After the initial hooha , people will stop grumbling about it. Much in the same way (said quietly so that Craig doesn't shout at me) that people have more or less accepted the sports section. I am not a sports fan but I like the idea of being able to add an avatar. If I thought that I could bluff my way through the sports talk i'd join in but I fear that they'd find me out and hound me off the site!!!

Forgot to say Jno, where I find it most useful is in the music section (funnily enough). The other day there, I answered a question and gave a link to the song to see if that would help but it saves the person having to go off site to view the video link. It also helps to break up long posts, like mine. That's my biggest trouble - I just don't know when to shut up , so slap a big You Tube box on me.

Maybe the Ed is worried that if they drift over to You Tube, they won't find their way back and the questions will dry up on here. Or maybe she's added it out of sheer devilment to noise up Whiffey And Bob the whatever he is now .... Turkey? who have been pretty vocal in their disapproval of You Tube links. I do hope it's the latter. Naughty naughty Ed lol !!!

jno - glad you agree with my sentiments (previous page). We're certainly not alone!

enigma - I don't mind change at all, in fact I've encouraged some of them on AB. However, I just can't see the benefits of a video image staring you in the face & taking up so much room on a thread, where a simple link will allow you to open up the same video - if you wish to.

I didn't take any offence, enigma, your comments were perfectly fair; I was just trying to explain myself more clearly. Anyway, the Ed seems to have sorted it out so everyone (except possibly poor old Craig007) gets what they wanted, so cakes and ale all round.

Well, well, well - the complaints worked!

We now have options of either YouTube pic's in your face, or links! I've gone for links, although it's not much different from copying & pasting your own links - if one feels the need to of course!
