"We are currently working to resolve issues with the Answerbank databases as quickly as possible. We apologise for the slowness of the site, but you should notice speed increases going forward. Thanks for your patience"
Sorry again for the problems some of you are experiencing,
snap, 4GS... as I understand it, 'going forward' is just the latest jargon for 'in the future' and is totally unnecessary when the verb refers to the future anyway. I have reported this post to Lucy Thomas and she will be sending the Techies to a re-education camp. (When they've finished going forward.)
I have put the Eds message through a jargon filter, here is the result:
"We don't know what is wrong with the site and we do not know how to mend it. You will have to put up with it for now until the techies have consulted 'Coding for Dummies' and hopefully they might stumble across a fix. Things are so bad, they can only get better in the future. Please do not give up and go away, we are doing our pi55poor best"
I have just spent time finding the answer to a question only to find it had been answered (twice) 20 minutes earlier, but still showed "no answers". Ahggggg!
Be good to get the home page instead of "unobtainable " and " the site does not have a default" ! (Have to find an answer page directly then go from there)
