The site went down this morning due to our hosting providers DNS servers failing.
We have been assured this won't happen again.
Sorry,

Of course nothing works smoothly all the time, but we would all be a lot happier if we knew what was going on here. Don't bury your head in the sand and pretend nothing is happening and hope that the 'customers' haven't noticed. Believe me we have, and we are beginning to lose patience. A bit of information would go a long way towards keeping us happy.

Thanks, AB Editor for, at last, letting us know that you are aware of the problems that we have all been encountering, and for the assurance that you will keep us posted. We can put up with a lot without much complaint so long as we are kept in the loop, and I'm hoping that we will now be given regular (and frequent) bulletins about the situation at AB HQ.
I know there are a lot of people on this site who probably know every bit as much as you and your technical staff about computers, but there are lots like me who know next to nothing! And your 'reassuring' words that you "are still continuing to optimise the backend" leave me none the wiser ! But if it means going on doing whatever you have been doing I don't see this problem being solved before the end of 2007. Some idea of when you expect this site to be up and running properly again would be appreciated.
Meanwhile I'm looking forward to reading an update on the current situation.
