Hi Ed, I've just read your latest blog & note you've written:

CHANGE

As I've said before, changes will take time. If people think that changes will be implemented instantly, they've got another 'thing' coming.

Shouldn't that read 'think' coming?.

It's only a bit of light hearted fun daniela!

I'm sure the Ed has a brilliant sense of humour too. ;o}
daniela you are an incorrigible flirt.
Good girl.... ;-)

Both thing and think versions of this phrase are in common usage, so neither is more correct than the other.

Another thing coming is better grammatically. Think is grammatically incorrect, it should be "You have another thought coming.

Over to you Ethel....
Wow... I'm going to need popcorn and a drink for this raging debate,k I can't believe I almost missed it... ;0)
Question Author
They're selling big bags of popcorn in Aldi for 99p CD!
It started life as "Another think coming" from "If you think that then you have another think coming" (with deliberately wrong grammar!.

However, both 'think' and 'thing' are now considered acceptable as both are in common useage and language develops.
Question Author
Yeah, that's what I said in an earlier post LL.

People use either words these days.
I would say, "I'll have a think about that," or "I'll think about it."

So I would have another think coming
Then, why the question Smudge? ;o)
<<<<<no.knowledge.............hello loftyLottie
I save time by having no thoughts or thinks coming, it keeps life simple ;0)
Hello my dear - why are you now wonky!
Question Author
Thank you - so would I Ethel.

LL - My question was because I read 'thing' & I didn't think it looked right.

I've always said 'think' & checked on Google before I asked on here. Several sites, show the correct word as 'think', but people do use either. I will still carry on as I always have done & use 'think'.

P.S. This time out problem is driving me nuts!
Question Author
wonkon-wonk. Was that comment made for me? If so, p'raps you'd like to know that I'd been trying to post my answer, but kept getting 'time out', so couldn't.
