Hey AB Editor, do you suppose it would be possible to add a category to the "Report this question" section: "Sexist tripe"?

I'm usually fairly even-keeled but some stuff just drives me nuts.

zgma - I would like to think we can spot sexist tripe if it rears its tired, ugly head. As long as the post is reported, we'll find it and deal with it accordingly.

Thanks AB Ed... I suppose I will just have to try to check my annoyance and respond to the stuff as it comes up.
Also, what you see as sexist tripe, others may not. As AB says, that is what the Report button is forl.
Question Author
Yes, true, smudge.  That was a bit harsh on my part... result of poking around AB late at night after a hard day.  Probably better to address it than just have stuff that I don't like removed anyway.
If you are referring to the "swearing women growing hair" thread, without being abusive, I think that anybody who makes such a post deserves to have their horizons broadened and this is probably a good place for it to happen...this is upposed to be a place for helpful exchange of opinions and I sincerely  hope that my post helped that particular person...
with respect wolfgang,if you did not like the thread i posted, which i had read in the paper and found very amusing and  for that matter so did 23 of the 25 people who posted answers, why on earth were you the first to post an answer?as smudge has stated what you see as sexist tripe others maynot!!i certainly dont need my horizons broadened by someone with such a condenscending attitude.at least i brightend up a few peoples day with a light hearted question?not to be taken to seriously and i did ask "do you believe this! its a pity that you have to get so personal.since july i have answered over 500 questions and hopefully helped a few people on the way.
Question Author
Actually, vinny and woofgang, I hadn't seen that post... I will have to go look for it now.
Question Author
The post I was referring to was someone's response to becks' question about moving in together, and it was a collection of ugly stereotypes about men that I found offensive and, if you believe them, damaging to any hope of men and women treating each other with respect.  In retrospect, I was, erm... drunk, and erm.... taking things a little too seriously by posting this thread.

woofgang whats the point of ab if not to ask or post questions vinnys was genuine question taken from a newspaper with a link to a website with credible reserch by a russian scientist how you can say this is sexist?

also on that post of vinny100 i asked if men s hair grew faster if they were in the habit of swearing a lot is that sexist? . restore vinnys question ! lets have commonsense back on answerbank!!!!!!!
I can honestly say that I haven't found very much sexist stuff on this site, except for lighthearted tongue in cheek stuff.  Vinny's question proved a bit of light hearted relief, it made me laugh.
thanks fakeplastic,i cant understand why a certain person reported it,and the ed wiped it off??
cheers rod.
Question Author
Ah, which explains why I couldn't find it to read...
sorry zgma,i should have told you(: )
vinny 100, I showed my husband the website with the information on it and he said that he remembers when they were doing those studies with swearing at water, they talked about it in school or something. (he's from russia) It was apparently very ground-breaking.
thanks yinzer,it was something i thought would interest everybody but why did wolfgang not look into the research and why did this editor take the question of.give everybody a good reason why you took it of please editor.did you check the research .as zgma as said this was not aimed at my question!!
I was the first to post an answer because I was the first one to read it Vinny, I accept that you posted with intent to amuse and apologise if my post upset you. If you post anything here, people are going to react and not always in the way that you would wish or intend. I wasn't the person who reported it (why would I, I posted on it) and while I am not pointing at you, I still would question the validity and intent of that particular piece of research.
