i think it would be an idea to let folk know why they've been banned,or why a thread that has had a lot of hits,as some seem to disappear

Yes. It's perverse pedagogy to punish someone and not tell them why.

It depends what someone is banned for doesn't it.

Maybe its the thought police at work. Its now a crime to even suggest a problem exists or there's a fault with the system that needs correcting. Whether its immigration or politics unless your views echo the establishment you have your name put on the list, your phone tapped. your e-mails read, and put under surveillance. Nothing to hide but truth itself!
