I have found that more innapropriate answers are being given to questions.
There is a "Report a Question" window, why not "Report an Answer" one, then for example you could get rid of the idiots on the site???

There used (in the dim and distant past) to be a "report this answer" facility on AB.
When the site was revamped and upgraded it disappeared, and when the upgrade didn't work it wasn't reinstated (can't imagine why not).
Hopefully, when in the wide blue yonder of the future the elusive AB Ed's decide to give us a working AB, we may get this window back, but don't hold your breath!

They did have a 'report this answer' option but people were abusing it. If an answer was reported 3 times for the same thing then the user got a temp ban. So some used their alias names to get rid of users they didn't like.
They need to bring it back so just that single answer goes and not the user.

My main reservation about suggestions like this is the fact that we all could take exception to any answer for all sorts of reasons if we chose to. After all, we don't all share the same opinion about what's "inappropriate" and what's not.
Such a facility could lead to a deluge of objections, and to what end? We all have the option as things stand to either not contribute to any given thread, to withdraw from it, or to ignore it altogether. I mean, there are many topics on AB to choose from, aren't there? Although, I realise that some people more or less stick to the same one or two topics. But others flit around and participate in many.
I just happen to believe that such a facility could smack of "PC" which, to be honest, is only a way to try to gag opinions which others take exception to. I thought that AB, which I know has many rules, was basically a question and answer facility available to one and all regardless of their views.

Hi,
In this thread alone there is an answer that could be deleated by a "Mod" without causing any trouble. If it was to be deleated along with other inappropriate answers then I'm sure that the persons who reply in such a manner would soon see that their inappropriate answers are being deleated immediately and would soon give up.

CSG:
You seem to have totally ignored the points I've made by simply not coming up with any answers. You still haven't explained what you think "inappropriate" is? By merely referring to one of the answers is not enough. What's "inappropriate" about it? Daft, frivolous yes, but "inappropriate"? Why? Others may simply laugh it off.
And how would your "system" work? As I intimated before, we could conceivably have a deluge of answers deemed by people to be "inappropriate". How could it be policed? You'd need "Mods" working 24/7 just for this alone.
Plus, would people know that their answers were being reported, and by whom? Or would they only find out when suddenly they disappeared from the threads? A bit like the old Communist dictatorships did by simply removing people from society?
Let's face it, it's very easy to sit in anonymity being so judgemental about others, but perhaps not so if they knew who'd reported them, don't you agree? After all, aren't any of us entitled to a "fair trial"? No one likes a curtain twitching busybody who would sneakily drop them in it without prior warning, would they?
Or perhaps you could enlighten me as to how this system would/could work. We're all human beings after all.

Hi,
First and foremost life is too short for me to get involved in a discussion on whither I used the correct word or not, I should have used Inane instead of inappropiate.
It is easy; when a question is asked, all inane answers should be deleated by a Mod. Nothing can be easier than that.
As I have already stated, when the person responsible for these INANE answers finds that their INANE answers are being deleated ASAP they will eventually give up.
I am a Mod. on another forum, we don't stand any nonsense, we remove these stupid answers immediately they appear, and if someone persists they are warned once and then banned.
The first member who replied to this thread would have been barred from the outset because of his name.
There is no denying that The Answer Bank has drastically gone down hill since it first started. In my opinion this is due to a lack of communication by the people who run it and the members.
