I gave up on AB's search facility ages ago. Instead I use Google's facility to limit search results to those from a specific website. For example, if I wanted to search for all references to asparagus on the BBC website (and nowhere else), I'd use this search string in Google:
asparagus site:bbc.co.uk
Similarly, to find all of your posts (or posts where someone has mentioned your username) on AB, I'd use this string in Google:
jadzia49 site:theanswerbank.co.uk
(439 hits!)
So perhaps you might get better search results from Google?
