Maybe you should give the reason /s why it's dangerous, then folks will take the dangers into consideration before using or getting one. I use one from time to time and I see no danger in using it.
Is this a wind-up post? And by the way, this is a question and answer site; ALL questions and non-offensive answers are welcome.

Anyone reading this needs to realise this may be a personal grudge.

Bearing in mind "willyboy" referred to anyone who answered as "sickos".
High powered LASER pointers are safe in the hands of people who know the hazards.
Willyboy - get a life old chap :-)

Laser pointers are small devices that produce lasers. These useful electronics use a small beam of light to highlight things of interest. Like their name suggests, they use lasers to point at things. Although the beam from a laser pointer cannot be seen from the side, it can be visible if dust or other particles are scattered in the path of the light. Most of the light remains focused on a point at the end of the beam, making lasers perfect for pointing at objects.
A laser pointer is essentially a small laser which emits light through stimulated emission in a narrow, low-divergence beam or converts light into a low-divergence beam using lenses. Pointers aren't very powerful lasers which allow them to be suitable for everyday use. Lasers are coherent light, which means that their light waves have the same frequency and phase unlike other light sources which emit incoherent light with varied phases. Although lasers usually emit monochromatic light, some lasers are able to emit a broad spectrum of light or multiple distinct wavelengths of light simultaneously.
While not dangerous if used correctly, there is potential for accidental damage to the retina of the eye occurring if the laser pointer is shone directly into someone's eyes. However, exposure to lasers is usually limited by a person's eye blink reflex and thus, it is unlikely to cause any lasting harm to a person. Different countries have different regulations as to what type of laser pointers can be sold, which depends on how dangerous they view laser pointers to be to the general public. There are strict regulations on the sale and production of laser pointers because they can be misused to dazzle and/or distract aircraft pilots and drivers.

Yes indeed. Thanks society - I hope 'willyboy' and his serious name and matching attitude are happy with that LOL, nighty night!
To "willyboy" : thanks very much for your deep concern for my terrible irresponsibility,
rest assured I'll never ever point people in the direction of http://www.digitaldaffodil.co.uk/ where I got my one.

whilst i agree, its a potentially dangerous item in the wrong hands, there are hundred on other things that are dangerous too...are we not to mention them either in case they give others ideas?
as mentioned - catapults.... also, knives, in fact anything sharp, like knitting needles etc...the list is endless really,
as stated, this is a Q&A site, so even though it wasnt strictly a question i dont see it has broken an Site Rules...

Thanks for pointing this out Joko, I think people like to jump on hysteria soapboxes just for the sake of it sometimes.
There was a question in my post btw "any fans?" I was hoping there might be a couple of nerdy types like me who'd also bought one - maybe someone who'd managed to make a hologram with one for example ! (yes this really is possible btw)
