Ed - for moderators to have the authority to remove posts. Today's offerings from certain quarters are nothing short of pathetic.

Your IP Addy is what is called dynamic.
That is::~
The 1st part(Country) stays the same
The 2nd Part(Your Internet Service Provider) say BT, AOL, TalK Talk, stays the same
However
The 3rd Part, the individual link from your PC to your ISP's server is different every time you log on.
So AB's server would not be able to recognise your IP as it's end numbers change every time.
Even more so if someone uses a different Internet cafe,or uses the Internet Service in a library for instance.
I do think that if AB trusts guys to be moderators,then they should have the power to remove posts,as at weekends this would mean troll posts could be dealt with quickly
If troll posts were removed quickly,then(possibly) such trolls might give up(for a while at least?).
The power of banning a poster should remain with the ED though.

ummmm - I don't understand 2 of your posts today on this subect -the one at 12.20 ^^ and another on the Pink Flloyd thread <If people don't want us to post maybe they should start their own threads...
just a thought... > These seem contradictory - or am I reading them wrongly?
My point in this suggestion is that if moderators have designated authority to remove such offensive posts (on which they can be very quick to suspend the poster) there is no need for any ABer to respond or make make further reports. Simply trying to move the post on from the front page will not stop the op from returning to their post. If other decent posts are submitted to 'cleanse' the latest post list those efforts can also be negated by abusive posters. IMO the only way to eradicate such behaviour is to alow the moderators remove the posts.

bedknobs - I have posted my valid point here because of the Ed's topic guide at the top of this section. If anyone wishes to post on this suggestion it is their choice, I have not asked them so to do.. Already today, there have been over a dozen op's such as I have mentioned in this thread. I think this situation is enough for a suggestion like this one to be made, yet again.
