Bring on the State Thought Control.......what happened to our concept of liberty and freedom?
I think that very few in Govenrment, or society at large when it comes to political influence, have read John Stuart Mills or TS Eliot to counter-balance the former's arguments on the Principles of Liberty and Utilianarism - and Jeremy Bentham, who is he?
No wonder we are in this legal "merde" and it is a shame to see it encroaching these fair waters.
I really don't see the link between a disclaimer and advice to contact a doctor and not rely on advice on here between what you have posted DT!! Night night!!
Actually ummmm. The disclaimer always existed and then when the site changed it somehow got lost. I think it is necessary and Sqad is not part of the equation at all. In fact Sqad has been asking for it for ages.
then put it right up front as any newbie signs on. "you enter at your peril. Any advice, information, or representation is merely an expression of opinion put forth by the contributor and does not hereby represent any view of the Editors or staff or AB Inc and, as such, absolves AB Inc and its representatives of any liability, etc etc......
and bingo.problem solved (may need just a yearly reminder to the sheep)
don't personalise it, the very fact that I may pass views on oil price movements and the associated politics of the M-East could make the site equally exposed to the 'advice' being passed.
Or at a mundane level, the racing tips..........or anything else you may chose to focus on, advice on council actions, law cases, buiolding codes.
I rest my case, just make it simple or we will be bogged down in needless red tape and not even allowed to mentally 'fart' here.
Anyway, along with yingyang earlier, I also mentioned the possibility of placing the disclaimer on B&S, after you click on that category.
I'm not anti-sqad either - but agree with Lottie in respect of him being classed (by some) as the 'resident AB doctor' & him giving medical advice (altho' helpful to some) when they should really be contacting their own gp's.
How demeaning and rude of you anne - I was not referring to sqad - on any side of the fence. If you care to read all the threads to day around this subject, which I do not think you have the time or capacity to do so, you will not find any contribution to the subject of sqad. And, damn you, the one thing that folk have complimented me on is my neutral, even handed and non judgemental perspectives I bring to serious matters. Yes, I may be flippant, but you are way out of line on that comment.
Not at all in keeping with the thread or disclaimer......(sorry!) its good to have a person on hand like sqad to pick his brains but obv i do contact doctors too
But of any one with any profession its good to pickpeoples brains who are in the know about something isnt it :0)
