Very sorry to see that James Herbert has died today. His book, The Rats was one of the scariest I've ever read, he was definitely a master of his genre.................

I've really enjoyed some of his books over the years.

I'm very sorry to hear that. A master indeed.
Oh no. I LOVE James Herbert. I have ALL his books. A big box full. I bought each one as and when it was published so eg The Rats is a very early version. All paperbacks though. RIP Mr Herbert.
Has he??? Like his books too..many of them made into films...shame...
Damn. The Rats was the first horror book I read as a kid, followed by Domain, The Fog and Fluke.
The Magic Cottage was always my favourite of his. Very sad news.
Ah, Fluke! I'd forgotten that. Excellent book.
Sad news indeed.
I hadn't heard that. RIP :-(
Sad indeed RIP James Herbert.
Oh wow, I've missed this news. He was my introduction to horror writing.

He bought my friends parents house a good few years ago.
indeed a true master of his art, RIP.
Oh No!!! As a severe dyslexic I found his first books easy to read, im not sure why. then he wrote "The Sepulchre" I really couldn't understand it, his writing style changed with that book. I thought he was fantastic, possibly because his books were the only ones I could actually read. So sorry to hear of his death, just for those few books he wrote he was my favourite author of all times!!

RIP.
I remember reading The Fog, frit the life out if me!
I only just discovered him a few months ago. Very sorry to hear that.
I've only read 2 of his books so far-but know I will enjoy any others I read in the future.
Oh yes Fluke!! A dog that thought he was a man or was it a man that thought he was a dog.
This is a little belated but my favourite is " The Spear". What an imagination he had, that book still makes me shiver.
