have you any books you picked up, put down, then thought this is rubbish, not working, or can't get into.
I have tried with a number of books, one was Gullivers Travels, but somehow i don't actually like it, not sure why...

Just googled 'Gone Girl', sounds like my type of book. Next time I'm in Waterstones, I'll ask for it.
I had to give up on Lady Chatterleys lover when it went into dialect for the gamekeeper - I could not understand a word
Really struggled with Catch 22
Gave up in the end.
I read A Clockwork Orange before I saw the film and for such a short book it was heavy going, but that was down to the dialect that Alex and his gang used.
I'd worked out most by the end but there were one or two I couldn't fathom!

Ironically, I had a classmate called Anthony Burgess!
I only look at picture books......

chapta, i know i shouldn't say this but it's a lot cheaper on amazon, i would rather buy in a book store, but my pocket doesn't run to eight or nine quid for a paperbook, it's a brilliant book, so many turns will make your head spin.
I've read all Tess Gerritsen's.................brilliant
em, I either buy my books from Asda (cheaper), charity shops (even cheaper) or if all else fails, Waterstones! Actually, I love Waterstones and love browsing in there.

craft, sadly I've nearly read all of Tess's now, but there are still one or two I'm looking out for.
Wish another Peter James 'Dead' book would come out !
Michael Connolly's Trunk Music.

Trudging through treacle.
He's got a new one out soon Chap .
Dead Man's Time

Started 'Nostromo' by Joseph Conrad several times, but never got far.
v-e; How far did you get into 'The Book of Mormon' ?
I like trawling charity shops for books as well. Bought a Richard Hammond
book for £4 that would have cost £18 new and it was in good condition.

i did get about 3 pages into James Joyce Ulysses, and gave up, it might have been more than 3 pages, but really didn't see the point of progressing further.
Has he shaney - that's GREAT news !!! Thanks for that x
Did you see that craft - Dead Man's Time ...... ?
I did enjoy Wolf Hall but one thing I found very annoying was her way of doing dialog.

She tends to do long conversations of just straight dialog text without refering to who is saying what - I found it very easy to get lost in it if you're not paying enough attention and you end up re-reading it to work it out.

Oh yes I forgot Catch 22 - Couldn't finish that one either.

lol chaptaz, I've got it on pre-order...........
i downloaded all the game of thrones books - got to book 4 i think and gave up
And you didn't tell me there was another one coming out craft - tut tut ....

Hope he finally meets Sandy face to face.
