Bookings for the Festival open today so I was up bright and early to join the queue when booking opened at 8.30 am. On the dot of 8.30 am I was number 668 in the queue? I am now at 519 so next year I think I'll probably log on at 0001 lol. Going to be a long morning.
Glad you got to the front, enjoy the Festival.
In the days when you could visit the White House by queuing for tickets, a friend told me to get there before 07:30, as the kiosk opened at 08:00, so I got the family up at silly o'clock as we were staying outside DC. We got to the kiosk at 07:15 and we were first. By 08:00, there were 3 others behind us, the family never lets me forget that if I'm trying the chivvy them along.
Definitely not Randy - it's really quite a sedate affair. I'm going with a friend to hear Germaine Greer, Val McDermid and Alexander McCall Smith. You can have a drink but seldom see anything stronger than tea/coffee.
Maggie, we had a similar problem booking for one of the proms at the royal Albert hall. I don't know how people get to be first in the phone queue, took us five hours. Still, we got what we wanted in the end so it was worth the effort :)
I've read a lot of Alexander McCall Smith, lucky you to hear those three!
