After reading on Wiki about " Old London Bridge" .. I've just ordered "Old London Bridge ... the story of the oldest inhabited bridge in Europe" What have you treated yourself to, or reading?
camping in the rain in northern England .... I swear, I will never understand the English. Sounds like a very good booklist to get through at home in front of a roaring fire (or even better, on a Greek beach).
Donny one of the few films to brilliantly match the cast to the book was One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Great book by Ken Kesey, and although the film was not exactly true to the book, Milos Forman made a good fist of it.
LoL, jno.
It was Ms JtH's birthday yesterday and she put in an advance-request that we ought to go away to somewhere we have never stayed, breaking out our under-utilised camping equipment.
The Yorkshire Dales won. Mind you given the lack of visible scenery (it disappeared in the rain) and the newly forming stream-beds (which seemed to be forming either side of our tent) we could have been camping in any valley at the formation of the earth.....
We couldn't hear the radio over the howling gales and rain dumming on the tent oof, so reading it was!! :D
you should be sitting on a shingly beach with knotted hankies on your heads like the rest of your countrypersons (the ones who aren't throwing up in streets on Mediterranean islands). The best thing to do with camping equipment is to recycle it by leaving it on the pavement outside for the homeless to take.
Hmm, my pedometer tells me I've already reached my stereotyping limit for the day.
