What Books Are You Reading?

After reading on Wiki about " Old London Bridge" .. I've just ordered "Old London Bridge ... the story of the oldest inhabited bridge in Europe" What have you treated yourself to, or reading?

I have just started reading a Stephen Puleston crime thriller. First of his I have read but he seems to be highly thought of. His books are all set in Wales and I'm enjoying it so far.

Have just read (in 2 days) an Inspector Rebus book by Ian Rankin. Never read his books b4 but will defo read others now.

Heard of Ian Rankin, never read anything of his though. Great to get stuck in to something, takes you away for a while.

nailit - please read them in the sequence they are published; there are several storylines that run through all, is it 18, 19 or 20 now.
PS I've read them all.

I recently bought The Kennith Williams Diaries. I'm finding it hard as the print is so small. A visit to Specsavers might be in order.

I've mentioned before about a book I've recently read. 'Behind Her Eyes' by Sarah Pinborough. A dark, electrifying page turner with a corker of a twist at the end. If you don't mind me saying, a blooody good read!. If you like this sort of thing, I thoroughly recommend it.

I've just started "Ancillary Justice", the first in a Sci Fi series by Ann Leckie. Not sure about it yet, but I'll persevere!

Im in a monthly reading/book club and this was this months book. Not normally my type of reading but it was a crackin read.

The Stephen Puleston book I'm reading is called Speechless.

Agree with others that you should read the Rebus books in sequence Nailit. His career, love life, family and "low life" characters develop as the series progresses. Have read them all and have met Ian Rankin a few times - lovely fellow.

Back reading "The Wise Man's Fear" by Patrick Rothfuss for the second time. I am awaiting the sequal which has been 7 years in the writing and due out soon. I also re-read the prequal to this, "The Name of The Wind" earlier this year so that I am fresh with the characters when the third of what is being called "The Kingslayer Chronicles" is finally out. Prior to these I read the "Moontide Quartet" by David Hair over the autumn and winter months. 4 great volumes. I am also awaiting the final book of Game of Thrones and have not watched a single episode of the TV series in case it is spoiled for me. All I have to do is live long enough to get them read. :))

I've just ploughed through The Night Manager, John Le Carre, I hadn't realised that it was so old and the TV production updated it and moved it from South America to the Middle East. I didn't really enjoy it, it had a terrible last 50 pages and the ending was ridiculous.

Well, my book has arrived,it plunked through the letterbox on to the hall floor. Yellowing and musty smelling, wow! From first flicks of the pages, it's illustrations, I'm going to be totally immersed in this tonight
