They got one wrong as well. Harry Lime wasn't buried, it was a contact of his... That was the whole basis for the plot

Yes but the passage in the question refers to the first page of the novel where it is assumed it is Lime in the coffin.

I rang the Sunday Times who said all winners had been notified. Not content with that I rang Faber and Faber who said the winners had not yet been hosen but would be notified last week. I have tried to search for winners as I think it is a requirement that all competition winners are published. Anyone else know anyone who has beenn notified?

so basically no one knows who has won and I cannot find winners anywhere. Have winners been found or notified, is it still being decided or could it possibly be that we have all worked hard for no reason. Any one else prepared to ring and find out?

Sunday Times usually ignore any communication - I think they use the get out 'no correpondence will be entered into'. I will, however, try them and Faber - although I don't hold out much hope.

Perhaps there was no prize at all!

To save me trawling - do you have phone numbers for Sunday Times and/or Faber?

Don't worry about phone numbers. After an awful lot of prevaricating Faber inform me that the runners up have received their prizes (did not say who they were) and the winner was a Martin Abernethy.

I have queried whether there is a legal requirement to publish prize winners if requested and I have been informed they will 'look into' it.

Do we have a Martin Abernethy amongst our team?

not me. Just wish it was, But isn't it bad that we have had to go to so much trouble to find out who won. Didn't get runners up prize either. did anyone else?
