I have recently finished reading 'The Suspicions of Mr Whicher' and was really disappointed in it.

It seems that I am alone in feeling like this as all of it's reviews raved on about how it was a fantastic read, gripping, rivetting etc.

Have any of you other book loving ABers read it and what did you think?

I was very disappointed and gave up about half way through.
I liked the reviews and began to read it, but found it uninteresting. Gave up after about 40 pages. One more for the scrap heap.

Thanks for your replies peeps. Glad to see it's not just me then lol.
Having just finished it myself, I tend to agree. The book certainly captures you in the beginning and for the first part I was gripped by a well written story. However, half way though it ran out of steam. There were no clues, everyone was suspected and for those that were charged there was no evidence. The remainder of the book was full of padding, with only minor links to the story and you kept on expecting a great revelation, a new theory, but there was nothing. Yes, a great disappointment.
