Would you buy a Kindle? My daughter desperately wants one, but I think nothing beats an actual book. I love the feel and smell of a book and think there is nothing better than curling up with the real thing. I just can't imagine reading a book from a Kindle! To be honest, I hope it never catches on in a big way as I would hate books to be extinct!!
Kindle for me. Got one for Christmas and as I am disabled and can't get out to buy cheap books it's great. I've got to go into hospital soon and will probably be in for a couple of weeks and it will save me taking a mountain of books, plus you can google from it too.
Thank you all for your interesting replies. I suppose Kindles do have their uses, but I will never convert to a Kindle, I have over 500 books and read them over and over!
I only wish I could get one with big buttons and mega-simple operating. My mum doesn't read as much as she used to because she often can't see the print and has difficulty holding even a paperback book, so an e-Reader would be ideal for her. But she's a real technophobe - can't even handle the most simple mobile phone. She would need a straightforward 'choose book > open at right page > turn page > close' operation. Downloading's not a problem as I can do that for her. Any simple ones out there?
