hi.

firstly i think thats extremly offensive to say," Da vincis' pranks" i personally think its an insult to his intelligence and brilliance. yes there are many hints as to where the holy grail is hidden as he was a member of the priory of sion. the mona lisa is on 2 different levels, and ther are bridges etc, that exist 2day,the last supper has hints, and many more. it also depeneds on how far ur into the book, asu'l find out more.i have also read it.

Why "offensive"? Clearly, if the paintings contain "hidden messages" then they are far more likely to be pranks than instructions as to the nature of the Holy Grail. The Priory of Sion has also been discredited as a hoax organisation thought up by two individuals during the 20th century. Don't believe everything you read.
Sorry to moan but I have to report that I thought the Da Vinci Code was potentially the worst book I have ever read. The action is based upon the assumption that an expert in codes and professor of "symbology" have tremendous difficulty working out simple anagrams and other mindless clues. The geography of Paris and London are hoplessly garbled. East is West, Time zones do not exist, The Last Supper is different from the one I (and anyone else) have seen, and of course all the French prefer to use English to their own language. Did I mention that the characters are not even two dimensional. If you want ot go really nuts, try reading "The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail". You will end up seeing hidden meanings and conspiracies everywhere, which is a symptom of pshizophrenia.

I agree with trouble16 it is quite offensive to refer to Da Vinci's work as pranks.  For a start I wouldn't consider any examples given in The Da Vinci Code as pranks, merely suggestions, hidden clues.

And another thing - the book is *fiction*.  There may well be many coincidences in the paintings and works of art, but it doesn't mean they are all connected and it certainly doesn't mean they are clues.  If it was true, don't you think that someone would have picked up on it before Dan Brown?  I'm sure there are far cleverer and more intuitive men than a fiction writer.

im very sorry to anyone i offended. i meant to use quotations ['pranks'] and it was the only word i could think of, and i assumed that leonardo da vinci possibly got humor ot of it, im probably mistaken. so, again, im sorry. xx
hey i toatally think reading is a waist of time but i came on to black mail my sister with the people who die in harry potter. pretty good huh. but this is one book i did read just to see the things they made up about christianity. thoe paintings are not like that. they are just coincindences. sorry to burst your bubble but i have to say they did very well with the computer animations. anyways jesus did not sleep with mary magnolen. she was a prostitute . if you have other questions go ahead and ask.
