I Know This is Posted In The Wrong Area But I Could Not Find Math Under Topic?
Are Teacher Gave Us 16 Question Of Math And Out Of All 16 This Is The Only Question I Am Stuck On
I Need To Know Which two numbers add to get 12 and multiply to get 20?
After I Find Which Two Numbers It Is Then I Can Finish The Rest Of The Question.
Hi netibiza. When I first moved into teaching I was shocked by how many secondary pupils put:
- "are " instead of "our"
- "a" instead of "I" ("After school a went to are grans")
-"of" instead of "have" ("A should of gone 2 are grans 4 tea"
The misuse of capital letters (e.g. lower case i for the word "I" or starting every word with a capital letter is common too.
I know factor30, the "of "instead of "have", or "fed up of "instead of "fed up with", drive me mad, but I was not picking on this poster, just thought it may help them in the future.
Because of the phrase used '' Math Help'' I think the poster is american & therefore what do we know about the vagaries of US teaching? I know that 10+2 & 10x2 would be the same but Eng Lit & pronunciation ?.
I often notice other peoples grammar and spelling mistakes but as my punctuation probably infuriates people all the time I keep quiet.
As a severe dyslexic some like myself really have little idea on many of these common mistakes in grammar and spelling, thankfully the spell checker picks up many spelling mistakes but to correct the all the punctuation and grammar would take forever and I for one would just cease posting as it would be just far too laborious to bother with. And as surely been noticed in my posts, I can often make a sentence last a whole page!!
For the sake of interest. This reply has just taken me 15 minutes to write. :-)
