im trying to find a collection of artists who use snapshots in their work..any ideas?

How about Andy Goldsworty for an off the wall example.

He creates sulpture from nautral materials in the environment and consequently they are transitory and are recorded in photographs.

You could build quite a debate as to whether the photographs themselves are part of the art or merely the method of recording the piece .

david shrigley. very amusing snapshots that look normal then you notice a little sign or face somewhere.

Ok, a lot of this could be arguable as to if the work is a �snap� shot, (there is a good reference to a snapshot in the Film 1 Hour photo, it is referenced as a hunting term) but certainly photographic works that have a instantaneous and candid feel about them.

1Wolfgang Tillmans � if one thing matters, everything does.

His latest book and collection I think, and an amazing collaboration of his works, presented in the book, as almost a contact sheet of all the images, I was not lucky enough to see the actual exhibition.

He has a couple of other books that are very much worth a look, one entitled Wolfgang Tillmans, the other BURG. Taschen do both of these in one book.

2. Mario Testino � Any Objections?

Before become the highly famous portrait photographer that he is now, he did some amazing work, that was more centred around the back stage of a lot of these Fashion shows, and houses, a very emotive and eye catching book that is well worth a look,

3. and I suppose Nan Goldin, although I always look at her work as being much more than just a snap shot, and some of her work is very much set up, but still, something like Devils Playground may be worth a look at.
