Million for a Morgue
1 Answers
Those of you that are in to Crime Fiction may be interested in this site on Facebook. A little background:
The Million For A Morgue campaign is a unique fundraising project set up by the University of Dundee to help raise funds to build the morgue within the new Theil Centre of Excellence.
It was borne out of the friendship between Professor Sue Black (link to her profile page), the Director of the CAHId at the University of Dundee, and crime fiction writer Val McDermid. Professor Black has often assisted Val with the forensic details required for her crimes stories and they have appeared at book festival events together discussing the thought process behind crime fiction.
There is a list of crime writers and you can vote for one at £1 per vote. Person with most votes when a Million has been reached will have the new morgue named after them.
Even if you don't want to vote, it's a very interesting site.
