Another Drawing Underway
36 Answers
for those of you (like gness) who like to follow the progress.
This one is stage 2 - blocks (perspectives, angles that sort of thing done to prepare before inking) and after the first ink session, so it is still early days.
This is a commission drawing for prints for a mother, grandmother, daughter and aunt, daughter also wanting to give 300 cards to her younger brother for a wedding present - for t-you cards. I also have one other who wants a print, having been married there and there may well be more (hopefully so).
It is at the wonderfully named Perranzabuloe, not that far from Perranporth and the Saint is Piran (spelt Pirran here).

The final work will look something like this (not the same church!) http://tinypic.com/r/2h4b769/6 - Perranzabuloe's blocks in the door are much newer and far more prominent.

I should mention that I am also not the greatest photographer in the world? But I try and I have fun trying.

Carakeel. That is fantastic. Thank goodness you`ve been inspired to start again.
You know the way Chris Packham rubs his thighs when something is just right?
Well I have my tummy tingle. When I am making or creating something I know it`s good when my tummy tingle tells me. If I`m flat it`s back to the drawing board.
Your eye made the tummy tingle! Wonderful and please keep posting. x

Hi Ratter. Think DT has said something similar in the past about his drawings when shown here and yet they still look so amazing, like Carakeels eye.
I`m serious about the feeling you get when you see something special and for all my Packham jesting, he does the thigh rubbing for the same reason as I get the tummy tingle.

Excellent Carakeel and well done for making the plunge - though the photograph can distort, I have found it useful to pick up on flaws! in life drawing, get the eyes and the nose right and the rest follows.
As to Cazz's comment, well done you are correct - bear in mind that there is a slight angle on the front porch (take the roof bottoms and you will see it) - and then the bottom is also naturally distorted as the path runs upwards as you go left to right (which I have yet to convey ) - also the main body of the Church is much, much older (13thC - I think with the rocks coming up fromPerranporth some 3 miles away) and the porch a George III add on.
