for those of you (like gness) who like to follow the progress.

This one is stage 2 - blocks (perspectives, angles that sort of thing done to prepare before inking) and after the first ink session, so it is still early days.

This is a commission drawing for prints for a mother, grandmother, daughter and aunt, daughter also wanting to give 300 cards to her younger brother for a wedding present - for t-you cards. I also have one other who wants a print, having been married there and there may well be more (hopefully so).

It is at the wonderfully named Perranzabuloe, not that far from Perranporth and the Saint is Piran (spelt Pirran here).

The final work will look something like this (not the same church!) http://tinypic.com/r/2h4b769/6 - Perranzabuloe's blocks in the door are much newer and far more prominent.

Very well thank you. Daughter made it safely from Honiton and back in awful weather.

Spending the weekend in Devon?
Bristol where the grad is Fri til Mon. Then Slimbridge followed by Taunton to see Miriam Margoyles. Daughter keeps me on the go. Home Wed.
Bristol Cathedral ...know it?
If you ever master the art of drawing cats you could make a fortune from all the AB crazy cat ladies.

The second drawing is excellent. I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler without my fingers getting in the way.

Been there many years ago at the top of the hill......

Like the Hotel du Vin bistro in Bristol.....

well a long way to go on the first one, wolf - my sis is brilliant at animals! She manages to capture their movement, mainly dogs and horses though.
That is beautiful, DT! Can't wait to see more!Seeing you doing this has helped give me a push and I have started doing some pencil drawings now too. I have done a few oil paintings in the past, another thing I know absolutely nothing about, but seeing how lovely your drawings are has made me want to try something new. So I have gone and bought all sorts of pencils, charcoal, graphite powder and have embarked on this new adventure. So, many thanks for being an inspiration! Hugs!
DT - My avatars sister looks like a cross between a Highland Cow and a Shetland Pony (but with a nasty temper and sharp teeth) so maybe your sister could just draw a mini horse.

:-)
Carakeel - you certainly have enough animals to model for you. I don't mean your dearest Ratter. :-)
Carakeel. Fantastic!
They are excellent DTc the detail is amazing. I seem to remember you did one of a church in St Ives a couple of years ago, that was excellent too.
Superb DT - always enjoy seeing your drawings.
Thanks you two! I have only done one drawing so far and it is of an eye. I chose this because I liked the artist who was doing an online course in realistic drawing and because I want to be able to draw eyes really well, before I start drawing our Wolfies. The eyes are just so important and I think can make a portrait come to life. Me ratter is saying I should post it, so I will, just to see what you think. Ratter is being a darling, as always, and says it is great, but constructive criticism is always welcome. lol
