Do You Still Buy Newspapers?

Just wondering how many people read the news online and how many of you buy a daily newspaper and sit down to read it? What with all the phone apps around these days and more and more people having access to the internet is the newspaper becoming a thing of the past?
I have the mail app on my phone and look at this first thing in the morning I also look on the mail website atleast twice a day. I can't remember the last time I bought a proper paper.

I buy a morning paper 6 days a week. Going to get it gets me out, and there's no substitute for the feeling of a newspaper in your hands. Plus, can you put a phone or a computer on the floor to catch the drips when you're painting a door?

There's something about holding a real newspaper that I like although I only have the Sunday Express delivered (mainly for crossword). It's a bit like books for me - I have a Kindle but love the smell and feel of a read book.

I read a newspaper every day. I forget about being able to read it online, it doesn't even occur to me to do it! lol

I buy a paper every day, much better than on-line versions. Mornings wouldn't be the same without a good read followed by the crossword.

I've often thought about having one delivered but they would probably end up in a pile on the kitchen table unused. I do read the local rag but at work as they have it delivered.

paper, coffee and pen, there's a thing called doing the crosswords the old fashioned way. I don't like some screen telling me that I am already wrong! Also it makes for good firelighter and for other applications around the house, not least the cleaning of mirror and window glass.

Well I must say I am very surprised. I thought the majority would have been for online reading seeing as we are all on here for hours at a time :-) I did used to look forward to reading the Sunday papers in bed but that was before I had my youngest who put a stop to all that.

Dtcrosswordfan, I do often come across times when a newspaper is needed for such a task but I never have any in the house. Agree with the online crosswords.

Buy a paper on Mondays and Fridays when I go shopping, prefer it to reading online, much as I prefer a book to an e-reader.

they also come in handy to roll up to whack someone , you can't do that with a computer.

I read the local daily paper at work each morning. I also keep up with local news online throughout the day and evening.

I watch the 10pm national news on TV and only buy a national paper on a Saturday for the crossword and the weekly TV page. I never read a daily national unless I'm stuck on a train and reading one that's left behind.

No, never buy a paper these days, they just get in the way and have to be recycled. Even stopped our local free one from being delivered too. Much prefer to read any news online and better for the environment too, all that wasted paper..

I agree with the recycling comment. Mine would just end up in a heap on the table and then my recycling box would end up stacked with unread papers.
