Most travel motels tell us that we can stay from £29 pppn but when I try to book a room its a lot more. Is it best to wait nearer to the travel date (wish to book this April & July) or will I get a better deal booking this now?
Cannot have a second choice as I must book specific motel each time.
Usually to get the best rates you need to book well in advance. With many of them you also have to book using the no cancellation booking so if you cannot go for any reason you lose the lot.
Also they are very selective as to where the "special deals" are. I regularly travel to Hadleigh in Essex and have never been able to secure a "special deal", no matter which night I wish to stay or if I book well in advance.
IF they have a special promotion and IF it applies to the hotel you want to stay in it can be worth waiting. Whether IF will happen no one knows - probably not even the hotel. It will depend on the volume of bokings they receive in the meantime.
I'd book now - that price saying "from" might apply only to one room. April is busy, July is high season - leave it and you might not get a room at all.
Try the Old English Inn chain - there are vouchers (with a promotional code to input) appearing in most daily papers at the moment for £9.95 or £14.95 per person per night including a fantastic breakfast! We always use them and are going next week for a couple of nights. Think it has to be used during Feb though.
