As for who R.A.B is, I think it could very well be a new character(Though the Sirius' Brother idea does sound good too), and I think they wrote they are probably "dead before you read this" in the locket because they were in fact the only one there to empty out the potion and get the locket. Dumbledore never said that you needed two people, just it proved to be helpful to get Dumbledore to finish the potion, perhapes this other person was just extremally driven.

personally i think the whole snape thing is too deep. Snape might've been good but probably screwed up by taking the unbreakable vow. When it came time he wanted to keep himself alive instead of dumbledore- i mean you don't just kill dumbledore and remain good. Also dumbie wouldn't have himself killed- he knew that he was the only one voldie ever feared. I also disagree with the thing about Regulus- you have to be really powerful to get through all of those traps voldie left.
Another reason I think Regulas could have taken the true horcrux is because he had the dark mark and perhapes there was a barrier put over the potion that was similar to one put ont he opening going up the staircase during the fight. You can only get through if you have a dark mark, in the same way you can only reach through the potion if you have a dark mark. That way he wouldn't have had to be a super strong wizard to handle the potion like Dumbledore was.
I suspect Dumbledore will return in book 7 for a few reasons: 1. He froze Harry at the start of the fight, as if he knew Harry would interfere with something he and Snape had planned. 2. He tells Malfoy that the Order can make it look like he was killed (and his mother) to hide him from Voldemort. Sounds like a subtle hint of what he is doing). 3. Dumbledore tells Malfoy that Snape didn't make the "Unbreakable vow" to his mother, but to him. Hmmm. Could Dumbledore have been using the polyjuice potion? If so, it would have been quite an elaborate plot with Snape. 4. Harry's reason why he thinks AD trusts Snape is weak - because he confessed hearing the prophecy and telling Voldemort?!. 5. AD was insistent on being taken to Snape, not the medicine lady. 6. It would be a close to perfect ending to book 7 if Harry does most of the work on his own, but AD pops out at the end and reveals he could only have done his part if Vold. thought he was dead. Voila.
u r full of cr%p.
Snape is bad and always will be.
Harry is not a horacrux.
dumbledore is not dead! he will help harry as a ghost, or will come back 2 life...somehow.
P.S. Hermione and Ron will go out and Harry and Ginny will get back together and then they will double-date and get married at the same time and have children with red hair, and they will be each other's son's and daughter's godparents and harry will be an Auoror or howeva u spell it.
AND....................... Harry will find all the Death eaters and kill them an malfoy (hehehehe) and he'll get all the hoorcuxes and destroy them all and voldermort will die and harry will become immortal
And........ he will take over as headmaster of hogwarts
And....................hermionies and rons kids and his and ginnys kids will all b in gryffindor
AND.......................................Snape will die
AND................almost done Hagrid will marry that giant lady from book four and have little Hagrids.
Continuing from above: 7. AD's statement early in the book that his rare mistakes could be colossal ones, seems too much like a setup to make us believe he could have really been wrong about Snape. 8. AD has always had a genius for foresight, intuition, and advanced planning. Especially when it is against what everyone else (and the Ministry) thinks is true. I just don't believe he would be wrong about Snape. 9. None of the Death Eaters would kill AD because Vold. wanted Malfoy to do it. So why then did Snape apparently kill AD? Well, that's why I don't think he did. There are always ways with magic to make things look like they aren't. 10. After the scene at the bottom of the tower, you don't see AD's body. Not at the funeral - just a wrapped up bundle that Hagrid carried in.
So there they are. 10 reasons.
Oh, one last thing:
As for RAB.... I'm not sure I even care. I think it is a decoy to draw the attention and speculation away from Dumbledore's death. It's possible that it is a fake message, and the item is still the horcrux; or it may be that RAB destroyed several of them and Harry follows his trail. Either way, it gives something for the plot in book 7 to build on.
I can see what everyone's saying about Snape dying as a hero, that's what I kind of think too.
But, to me, the part where Dumbledore said something like "I too make mistakes, Harry, and since I'm cleverer than most, when I make mistakes they are very big mistakes." was kind of a tip off that maybe he WAS wrong about Snape. I'd love to think that all along Dumbledore was right, but maybe this is just showing that this WAS his big mistake.
What does everyone think?
I think it could easily go either way, I'm just not sure at this point.
WL Guru-
doesnt it seem like that isnt something Rowling would do- to bring back Dumbledore? It seems to me that she would leave him dead and show that Harry can get on without him.
Do you guys really think Harry won't go back to Hogwarts? It says on the spine of every book "4th year at Hogwarts" "3rd year at hogwarts" etc. Would she actually do that?
Plus that would mean no Hagrid since he said Hogwaarts was his only home and he'd still teach there.
who knows.
