I am thinking of purchasing one of these any opinions on them please good and bad

As long as you don't expect it to be a substitute for a tablet (because, for example, it's web browser is only extremely basic) it would seem hard to fault it.

We have a Paperwhite which is great for holidays but you can only read books which you have bought on it. Kobo make a very similar model at a similar price and you can get books from local libraries on it. We have both and find the Kobo better because of that. You can join several libraries without needing to live in the area and borrow up to 5 books for up tp 3 weeks - perfect for holidays.
