I'd never heard of an Erhu before today. Isn't AB wonderfully educational? And isn't this a fine piece of music?

It's an excellent Scrabble word.
That is a velly long bow, but better than shoving it under your chin. Nice sound.

My eyes are pink and red rimmed from the time I spend in front of the computer. I need sober garb or the colours would clash.
Thanks for the link. A Boa skin erhu! Now that is something for the man or woman with everything. I take it its a Boa Constrictor skin and not the feathered variety
Stop up staring in the mirror Sandy and most of your problems will just disappear :o)
'stop up' ? doh!

That's hardly PC, but still deserves BA ^
Lol @Max Wall even the audience are laughing.
That was nice sound sandy . I wonder what the story behind that piece of mournful music was about?
All part of the Pots and Pans Orchestras out there, sandy! I lived with them for eight years or so.....the ehru isn't too bad, but the structure of Chinese can be very alien to the western ear.
Any idea of the story behind that piece DT? Talking musical instruments, I had a funny moment in work today. I was stood on the corridor talking with some of the men when all of a sudden I heard sitar music! I realised it was coming from my phone! I'd been looking at an Indian restaurants menu minutes before lol!
The title of the music is Elegy by Liu Tian-Hua but all info is Chinese to me!
Question Author
Elina, most melancholic music, from whatever continent, is usually about loss of one sort or another. I wouldn't be surprised if that is too.
Question Author
As it's called, 'Elegy' little doubt that it's about loss.
Thanks jomlett, that's all I could find. No doubt sandy.
He only wrote 12 pieces of music - this was a song of lament about a beautiful night written in 1928. He was born in a town I know well, Jianyin in Jiangsu Provence, just to the SW of Shanghai - was involved with initiating a fairly substantial project there. (Great fish restaurant in the town).
