I tried for Charles Rennie Mackintosh (being serious) but i'M NOT ALLOWED TO VOTE YET. So I think I'll go for Banksy (then we'll see his/her face!!!!)
Lucian Freud, one of the greats.
A.Turing, L. Freud ? not a chance, see my post 11:37 Fri.
Banksy is a great idea!
It's NOT a vote - it's a nomination. And repeat nominations make no difference. Here is a quote from the leaflet ;-

"The Bank is seeking nominations so the Banknote Character Advisory Committee can consider a wide range of potential characters. The decision will be based on the strength of the contribution of the nominees, not on the number of times they were nominated, so please do not send multiple nominations for the same character. It is possible to nominate more than one individual."

The nomination I submitted several weeks ago is on the list.
Khandro - since it is anonymous - you can tell what the area of darkness was without revealing the person's name

unless you know it was like Princess Di and the Great and Good were not aware ( possible) that she had a taste for dark haired, brown eyed good-lookers like Mohd. Fayed. Prince Charles her husband at the time is neither of these by the way

hold it (!) you can - he is meant to be dead ....
Priddy comprehensive list

Inote Henri Gaudier Brzeska and he wasnt even English - but died in the trenches in 1915.
PP; Shenanigans of a sexual nature came to light. To get on a banknote you have to be squeaky-clean, and that's one of the reasons I'm not putting myself forward.
DelBoy.
Barbara Hepworth? Let's hear it for the girls!
