there was no indication why the father's pick-up was being chased by police, nor why they might have opened fire. thus i found it a bit difficult to understand why reporting the boy's being autistic was any way relevant.

i heard it on radio five yesterday, sw it on the bbc website yesterday and on the news last night (all BBC).
What has it got to do with left-wingedness?

Because, usually, when the US police kill someone the same few left wing ABers are 'up in arms' about it. I was wondering just what it was about this particular case that didn't inspire the usual reaction. That's why I genuinely thought it hadn't been reported on much. (in the sort of media they would follow)

It is a dreadful story and would be beneath most people to try and make any sort of 'political' capital from it.....

It's a US story. Doesn't affect us much. Poluce shooting and killing the public stories are two a penny in the US.

I didn't say, as well you know gromit, that it hadn't been reported on the bbc. I asked if it had because I seldom watch it. I know when black people have been killed by the police, it's headline news, there and here, for a fortnight.

So you are claiming racism because there have been no posts on this incident because the victims are white?

As I said, there are dozens of these in the US every week. Their news value has diminished because of the volume of cases.
