For the record i cannot be a**** about who is the PM but i tell you something,Whoever follows blair, will have a short honeymoon before the same tedious, tiresome charges will be levelled at him..its a national sport...thatcher was accused of the same thing, but now as selective nostalgia sets in, we hear all the talk of her great faith in collective decision making of cabinet government..
haaaaaaaaang on a sec. Blair either openly lied to the country to take us to war or was guilty of massive incompetence (in relation to WMD/ Battlefield weapons). Thousands of troops and innocents have given their lives, destabilizing the world, and helping to make the financial centre of our country the target of islamic extremists.
Can't see myself at 80, sitting with a cuppa and reminiscing about the good times under that smiling nazi-in-a=suit.
Talking of the fword....that french connection T shirt should have kept the police busy for 24 hrs
And whats this about most countries of the world and weapons inspectors supporting the two mad men.
The chief weapons inspector, France, germany and russia were against the invasion. Its only our intelligence (which kills a brazilian) and the american brown noses who believed in the WMD theory.
If I remember correctly, Blair/Labour were elected in 1997. You might object about the war, but there HAVE been improvements to our country since then. Ok, it's difficult to prove whether or not those same/similar improvements would or would not have been made under the Tories (assuming they could have kept any leader at all (Nazi or otherwise) for longer than 6 months or so).
If we were in a dictatorship, we'd know about it... I'm sure of that.
It's clear that people here are free to sl.a.g off our government. That probably wouldn't be the case in a dictatorship.
surfer mike - you made a brilliant point and I agree with you wholeheartedly on the contents of your first post. The British public/press as the same with celebrities and sporting heros. Build them up, just to knock them down. Henman's a classic example. It's actually a very bitchy and embarassing trait, and one that cannot be blamed on Blair!
''The chief weapons inspector, France, germany and russia were against the invasion. Its only our intelligence (which kills a brazilian) and the american brown noses who believed in the WMD theory. ''
I can see where you are coming from politically, but just a clarification, who said anything about the invasion or as i would prefer liberation from a ruthless tyrant who has been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of muslims, the issue here was weapons or lack of them and the fact that most of the world including most ordinary iraqis btw thought he had them, the french, germans except for their ex commie foreign minister, thought he had them, so too did russia, the un and all those experts including david kelly..
This issue will go on and on and on and on, i know that and i'm not saying its not a important issue iraq and its future, its very important.. but boy has it become boring all this talk about wmds and the war, thats old news, if we are to have discussions on iraq lets talk about the future of the region and solutions, thats todays news.
Typical socialist workers reaction,
Bang on about the Awful british and us governments accusing them of all sorts of crimes, reading the conspiracy theory nonsense of the likes of noam chomsky and john pilger.. but conveniently forgetting the crimes of saddam and the hundreds of thousands of people he killed.
''My leader'' god sake just because i dare to express a different view i'm accused of being a new labour lackey...grow up..
Whose your's don't tell me gorgeous george!
Get off your high moral horse why don't you.
It is no conspiracy theory...it is a fact. the war was illegal and you will have to face that truth.
As for the number that saddam killed, well we killed more or less the same numbers.
Moral high ground...like it or not, I have that ground and you dont. You perhaps even believe that the July 7 bomba had nothing to do with the war in Iraq....tell me you disagree with Blair on that!!
There may be a link between Iraq and 7th July (in fact I do feel that there definitely is a link), but only the most politically (and in fact generally) naive people would believe that withdrawing our troops from Iraq would have prevented the bombs, or that it would prevent future attacks. Islamic extremists have enough other reasons to hate and attack our country. Iraq might have been Excuse No.1, but their list probably goes into the hundreds. Also, only the most naive would think that had Blair not been in power, we would not be attacked... I will bet my life savings now, that under the next different government, our country will still be under threat of terrorism. Be reminded, the attacks only succeded because of the old, but true, addage that we have to be lucky every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year. They have to be lucky once.
I don't think Howard/Duncan-Smith/Clarke/whoever actually will be next, will face better odds than that.
Sounds like the cold war propoganda where the dirty commies wanted to rule the world. Or the africans and other colonies who had to be brought into our civilisation..(in the 1800s) .there are many who fell for that tripe.
Now its the islamists who want to rule the world. No they just want to be left alone.
B2B is say
Blair is nothing more than a communist loving, pro criminal ***** bubble who is married to an absolute heffer with bad lips and hair. He should retire to a leper colony and live out his days in misery like he has made for millions of decent law abiding UK nationals.
But first he should declare war on the French.
