Short Stories For Children

I'm looking for books of short stories for children. I've bought one by David Walliams - 'The World's Worst Children' - but Amazon has several by Terry Pratchett on offer too that look quite funny. Can anyone recommend them - or any others?

naomi, my friend who has young grandchildren cannot praise ANY book by David Walliams enough! Especially Gangsta Granny. Apparently the kids love them all and so does she! She thinks they are the best kids books EVER ......

Yes, I've read most of the Terry Pratchett children's books, and found them more entertaining than some of the ones aimed at adults (that might say more about me than about the books).

Oh sorry naomi, I just assumed they were short stories - didn't think kids books were that long !

hereIam, Please don't apologise. I'm grateful for your suggestion, but I do feel that three hundred plus pages is a long story for a 7 year old to read in one sitting.

Have a search for books by Gretel Killeen, Leigh Hobbs and Andy Griffiths.

You may find something suitable.

Most youngsters enjoy Andy Griffiths books.

Kids love them. Most are a bit more involved than one sitting, but they can't wait to pick them up again.

shortish books but my grandson loved them ,also you can stop and start reading without losing the flow x

Hi, I'm learning German and finding the International Children's Library very helpful. It's stocked with e-books and can be accessed in English, and filtered by age range. Rgds Linda
