Silver Leaf

Has anyone used silver/gold leaf for decorating? I'm doing a stencil on my daughter's bedroom wall and she wants some silver leaf used. I was going to do the whole stencil with paint and then do the leaf after by just putting the adhesive over the paint, then adding the silver. I think it would be too messy to try to add the adhesive through the stencil.

I've never used leaf before, do you think it'd work OK?

I would go with your thoughts, I have only ever done tiny bits with gold leaf and it was very messy, to try and do that through a stencil would be terribly hard.

That's my thought. The glue will get everywhere. I'm just hoping the glue won't upset the paint underneath.
