I found out about this last week. Wondering how to persuade near-York-living daughter to put us and small, malignant terrier up for the night so we can go to a performance. Not R & J again (spaced-out on that after years of GCSE and Zeffirelli) and almost word-perfect also on Midsummer - rather fancy MacBeth. Problem is that it is high tourist season and York is ***. Probably worth the effort. I'll make enquiries, thanks for the reminder Eleena.
The whole event looks wonderful....free wagon performances and Elizabethan entertainment.....yes it'll be busy and seats seem to be selling quickly for what I'd like to see......
I saw Macbeth during a thunderstorm at Stamford's outdoor theatre....it was wonderful...a flask and a blanket is all you need isn't it, Ducksie..... :-)

It sure is Gness, well, the local media told us bring flask of hot drinks and blankets - it was in the castle grounds so no alcoholic drinks allowed, it was really hot tea in my flask ha seats went so fast but in the build up to it, I booked myself in for every night with a different friends name and got in, I must say, it was free - I just loved it, that was back in the 90's
