Paris For The (Slightly) Crocked ?
17 Answers
Bonjour
I've got a bad back - temporary (and improving by the day) - but dratted painful and currently restricting my movement and walking ability.
We're off to Paris next week for what was originally planned as an Art 'n' Culture break - lots of Museums and Galleries - plus the usual wandering the streets in search of food/drink/wool.
It looks like I'll be OK to travel - but not brilliant for standing /walking for long periods - so any ideas for more sedentary pleasures would be welcome?
Plus any personal (as opposed to guidebooks - which I already have) recommendations for places to eat/drink in the Louvre/Halles districts (Montmartre and the Rive Gauche may be a walk too far this time - and the steps out the Metro may be a killer).
Merci Mes Amis

Excellent service and wonderful food at sensible prices, served 24 hours per day. Simply hop on the Métro to République (Line 3, 5, 8, 9 or 11) and take a short stroll to get there.
One of the best ways to see the sights of Paris is from the river but the posh tour boats can be very expensive. The Batobus is far cheaper and more flexible too. It's a hop-on/hop-off service, where you pay a flat fare of €17 for a day's unlimited travel (or €19 for 2 consecutive days). The boats run every 40 minutes at this time of year (1000-1700 Mon-Thu, 1000-1900 Fri-Sun). You don't get a guide but it's easy to work out what you're looking at simply by taking a map with you.
