9pm ITV "A Cruel Love" about Ruth Ellis

Based on Carol Ann Lee's bestselling biography A Fine Day For A Hanging, the ITV drama series is set in 1955.

Am I the only one to remember this case?

I remember my parents talking about this back in 1955. I would have been 8 at the time so it didn't mean a lot to me back then.

I remember the event  - i was 23 at the time. Also on bbc4 there is a repeat of a 3 part series about it.

I was contemp with sons of lawyers who were gonna be famous ( Simon Bean Wright) entittled young men

and other sons of judges who knew they were never gonna be lawyers of  ny kind - I went onto med sch

Quite a lot of ABers actually know who day all are.

I haven't bothered to watch this series, and probably won't, given I know quite a lot about it and have always believed that Ruth Ellis was hanged because she was an 'immoral woman'.

I have watched two episodes but won't be watching any more.  Jumps about too much and I have absolutely no sympathy for someone who refuses all help.  Sorry if that sounds hard.

Nah. Don't think so. I vaguely remember my parents talking about it as I was 8 yrs old at the time. 

I remember a documentary about her in which there was a recording of her singing Answer Me.
