the 1st movie begins filming soon.the books paint a really complex picture that would be very hard to catch on film.

can they do them justice ?

I dont think so. How on earth are they going to capture the intense love between the people and their Daemons? (sp?) And you are right, the books are very copmplex, I really dont think they will do it justice, though I'm sure they will throw money at it and it will look beautiful. Thats not really enough though is it?

Last I heard, a lot of the anti-religious sentiment was being toned down/taken out so as not to upset Dubya's public. That said (like Narnia's pro-Christian parts) I don't think that many children would actually notice those elements in the books.

im not sure that the sight of a small boy clutching a fish in a shed will be as emotional as it is portrayed in the book
