This has been bugging me for ages - if anyone can help it would be MUCH appreciated.

There's this book I read when I was on holiday but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called / who wrote it.

It was written by a woman, had a picture of Aphrodite (I think - a glowing woman, at least) on the cover, and the title had something to do with Gold, or Golden. Fictional book, centred around a daughter of Priam looking at the Trojan War from inside Troy.

I don't think the one I have is the same as the one your looking for, its called 'The War at Troy', and narrated by a slave of Odysseus, as told to him by Odysseus, and written by 'Lindsay Clarke', harper Collins publishers, its an excellent read.

Aphrodite is almost central to the story, so its a possibility.
'Golden Apple' maybe?
I think I have read it - is it about the trojan war from the point of view of Cassandra? She is a seer and her prophecies come true with regard to the war.

I might still have it and when I get home from work later I will see if I can find it for you.

Yes - that's the one!
Typically, I can't find it. I have done a quick google and think that it might be
Cassandra, Princess of Troy by Hilary Bailey
this sounds familiar to me I hope it sounds familiar to you. The cover looks like your description, but I don't think it is the same illustration as the one I have (had?). Give it a quick google.

Going to watch Have I Got News For You now. Bye
Sounds more like The Firebrand by Marion Zimmer Bradley to me. Hope this helps.
