'When things go wrong, as they sometimes will and life's a struggle - all uphill...' Can anyone tell me the poem please? Not the cheeky version I found on a birthday card ! :-)

I loved el vinnys' account of his youth, sad but really struck home to me. Those were the days. Wish I had met you wandering the roads, I'd have joined you, meanwhile I was wandering my own roads in tent dresses and no shoes! <deep sigh >.
morning tout le monde....'tis sunny but cooler.... the temperature plummeted last night, typical! just when I'd bought some petoooonias & lobby-lie for my baskets. No tasteful colour co-ordination for me this year, it never works out right - just lots of garish 60s shades all shouting at one another.
ooh, bloomin heck Kit, sit down, you're in a cyber cafe remember?
yes, yes, very good
now Vinny why wouldn't anyone expect you to be here? you love music & that's poetry...we studied some Beatles lyrics in English...don't think it was 'she loves you yeah, yeah, yeah' tho' :o)
love your little poem too neti...you sure it was only no shoes you were wandeing around with?
I wish I'd met you all wandering the roads back then too - some of you <ahem> could have pushed me around in my pushchair.

Sure, deck your limbs in pants,
Yours are the limbs, my sweeting.
You look divine as you advance . . .
Have you seen yourself retreating?

We are the boys and girls
well known as
Members of the Biddybank
We've got brains. we've got looks
we've got moneeey,
And for AB Ed
we thank.
We behave, we are wise
we are twice the size
that we were years ago
We partied then, we groaned
but we don't now get stoned
All for one
and One for All
So Biddies
we'll make the rules,
we are the brains
the others are the fools!!!!

♫ "In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia,
On the Trail of the Lonesome Pine,
In the pale moonshine, our hearts entwined,
Where she carved her name and I carved mine,
O June. Like the mountains I'm blue,
Like the pine, I am lonesome for you," ♫
Have a nice time Jno ...keep your head down and your wellies clean !

your poem is brilliant, eat ya heart out pam eyres...all we need is for Vinny to set it to music & it can be our anthem. Mind you, I take exception to 'twice the size'. Nothing (sadly) about me is twice the size....although to the outside world, it might appear to be.

Can anyone give me advice . . . ?
What to do with computer mice?
At night they come out
And race all about.
Each mouse and it's spouse
Invading my house.
They wreck my office
And they're not too nice.
What to do with computer mice?
Wait, I hadn't thought about that -
Perhaps, I'll get a computer cat!
No mentions of 26/4 please!!
.........skuttles off..................................... see you soon....................................................

Oh! Please tell me, my little mouse,
If it is true that you live in our house.
Perhaps you live just down in our hall,
Or even outside by the big garden wall.
Wherever you live, I hope it is nice,
For you and all the other mice.
If only you weren't so terribly shy,
And scamper away when I pass by.
Wouldn't you stay if I said please,
And brought for you a piece of cheese.
So come little mouse and have some tea,
There would just be the three of us, you and the biddys and.(:O) me
